The English Department at Castle Peak Catholic Primary School works hard to ensure that learning English is interesting, engaging and challenging.
Our English teachers strive to meet the specific learning needs of all our students through various teaching mythologies. Our department holds a wide range of activities to create a positive English environment for our students. We hold our school morning assemblies in English on Tuesdays so that students have the opportunity to pray and learn in a multilingual environment.
We offer a variety of ways for students to practice and enhance their language skills. Students are encouraged to participate in choral speaking team, solo verse speech festival, drama team, joint-school activities and overseas study tours. Moreover, we have an English fun day in which all students can participate in interesting language games and competitions.
This year, our school has implemented the PEEGs (Promoting Effective English Grant Scheme) to help students learn to read efficiently. Our English teachers work together to provide students with abundant opportunities to use and develop their English skills inside and outside the classroom.
